After earning a B.A. degree in political science from Whitman College, Dr. Gregory Ogata graduated from the University of Washington with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1992. He moved to the Midwest, where he obtained his Master of Science in Orthodontics from St. Louis University.

Dr. Ogata stays abreast of the latest technological advances in orthodontics with memberships in the American Association of Orthodontists, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, Pierre Fauchard Academy, Washington State Dental Association and Seattle-King County Dental Society.

The art of orthodontics has always had a place in his home. His father, Dr. Yoshitaka Ogata, was a prominent orthodontist in Seattle and one of his three siblings, Dr. Randall Ogata, is also a Seattle orthodontist. He invested in the Stock Market at an early age, starting with a little and eventually building up to help purchase and develop his own property into a professional building right out of school. He also started his own orthodontic practice from scratch in Sammamish. Recently, Dr. Ogata helped the City of Sammamish approve fluoridation, as the city has the highest number of children under the age of 5 in the state of Washington.

Dr. Ogata and his wife, Siamphone, have three wonderful children, Austin, Carson and Kiana. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking, Japanese animation and films, technology and traveling with his family to experience the world. He is also a former wine collector.
